Late one night at 2:35, a client’s phone received this message:
- FUELMATIX ALERT. Tank-A: 15,247 L to 14,747 L (500 L drop). Time: 02:35 AM. Duration: 10 minutes. Immediate action required.
He called the police and the support team right away, and within 15 minutes three thieves were caught red-handed. Without the alert he would have found out in the morning, by which time over 1,000 litres could have gone.
Finding out late versus knowing now
- Without alerts: you find out the next morning, 8 to 12 hours later. Weekly reconciliation shows it after 7 days, monthly stock check after 30 days, or a customer complaint tells you when it has already grown
- With alerts: an SMS reaches you within a minute or two, so you can stop the problem while it is happening. It watches 24/7 for theft, leaks and contamination
Three real situations
Midnight theft near Savar. At 12:45 AM the alert said “Unusual dispensing detected, 150 L in 5 minutes.” The owner called security and rushed to the pump. A former employee and two others were stealing fuel and meant to carry on until dawn. The result was a police case and recovery.
Water in the tank in Chittagong. In heavy rain at 4:15 AM, the alert said water had been detected in Tank-B. The owner marked the tank out of service straight away and had the water removed the same morning, before any customer was affected.
A short delivery in Dhaka. At 7:30 PM the alert said “Delivery mismatch: ordered 10,000 L, received 9,650 L.” The owner confronted the driver on the spot, and the missing 350 litres were recovered.
Types of alerts
- Critical, sent by SMS at once: fuel theft, tank leak, water contamination, equipment failure, fire and safety emergencies
- Warnings, by SMS and app: low stock, delivery variance, unusual temperature, maintenance due, after-hours access
- Information, in the app only: daily summary, weekly reports and monthly analytics
Fewer false alarms
The system learns what is normal for your pump: the busy hours, the quiet hours and your delivery schedule. An expected tanker arriving will not trigger a theft alert, and a service visit can pause alerts, so you only get messages that matter.
Who gets the alert
- SMS to the owner, and optionally the manager or a security service
- Email with detailed incident reports
- Voice calls for critical cases only, such as tank overflow, fire or major equipment failure
- Live warnings on the dashboard, with alert history
